Aaron Weaver, CFA
Aaron Weaver, CFA is a finance specialist and former lawyer who has 13+ years experience across investment banking and legal industry roles. Aaron previously worked at Credit Suisse as part of the Global markets solutions group raising growth capital for early stage companies and also was prior to that, on the fixed income syndicate team. Previous to Credit Suisse, he was a capital markets and banking lawyer at Allen & Overy.
Aaron currently consults to a number of start up business, including fintechs and has a very strong interest in blockchain, artificial intelligence, data science and social entrepreneurship and impact investing.

Anna Flach is Head of Marketing and Communications at EquiChain.
Anna supports EquiChain’s vision of building the next generation of capital markets infrastructure through strategic communications. Working alongside the executive team, she has been hired to build the EquiChain brand, develop media relationships and raise awareness of the FinTech’s offering amongst clients, prospects and other key stakeholders.
Previously at Commerzbank, Anna was responsible for fixed income & currencies marketing globally. In this role, she was instrumental in establishing a digital content marketing strategy for the investment bank. Anna led the flagship thought leadership initiative in cooperation with a key media partner, which was nominated as 'Commercial Campaign of the Year' in the 2017 DRUM Online Media Awards. Prior to that, she held roles at BNP Paribas in Paris and London.

Latterly, Chris worked on developing the innovation agenda for CS and ways that the bank could work better with emerging technology firms. George Mcdonaugh discovered Bitcoin in early 2011 and quit his eight year career in advertising within a month. He co-founded one of London’s largest Blockchain meetups and joined KRYPTONITE1 as CEO in the summer of 2016. Helen Thomas, CFA, is CEO of Blondemoney, an independent macroeconomic advisory firm. Helen brings together her experience in the worlds of both financial markets and politics. She was Head of Active Currency at State Street Global Advisers and a Partner at ABD, a global macro hedge fund. Prior to this, she worked as an advisor to George Osborne when he was shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, as well as running the Financial Markets Research Programme at the leading centre-right think tank Policy Exchange. She also has over a decade of experience on sell-side trading floors in FX.
Helen was the lead researcher for a book on the financial crisis written by the MPs Matthew Hancock and Nadhim Zahawi, entitled “Masters of Nothing: How the Crash will happen again unless we understand human nature”.

Lawrence entered the cryptocurrency space as a blockchain payment consultant, leading a team from Imperial College London on a project with Capco. Following this, Lawrence, moved to Barbados to consult with Bitt Inc. to digitise the Caribbean financial ecosystem utilising blockchain and distributed ledger technology to facilitate secure peer-to-peer transactions. Whilst undertaking this project, Lawrence co-authored the white paper on Central Bank Digital Cash Issuance and advised on international regulatory developments within the cryptocurrency space.
Inspired by innovation and developments in the space, Lawrence founded a worldwide cryptocurrency support, education and research community comprising of over 700 participants across 28 countries. Most recently Lawrence co-founded Fortitude Circle, a digital asset brokerage and cryptocurrency fund.
Luca Zorzino, CFA
Luca Zorzino, CFA, joined Illuminate as an Investment Executive in 2015 where he has focused on early stage investments in trading, risk management and post-trade solutions. Prior to Illuminate Luca was a Consultant for Murex South-East Asia where he advised financial institutions in the region on re-engineering their post-trade business processes including confirmations, settlements, clearing and collateral.

Nawaz Imam, CFA

Nawaz Imam is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Issufy, bringing next-generation information management and analytics technology to investment banks, issuers and asset managers in equity capital markets transactions such as IPOs.
Nawaz started his career at Citi within emerging markets equity sales in London. He led the development of the sales franchise, co-running the team in 2009. During this period, he worked on some of the world’s largest ECM transactions including the IPO of VTB Bank, Russia’s 2nd largest bank ($8bn offering). He subsequently worked as a Portfolio Manager at JP Morgan and was most recently Head of Emerging Markets Equity Trading Strategy at Citi where he led the development of a top-tier equity strategy franchise for institutional clients for cash equities and derivative products.

Philip Treleaven is Director of the UK Centre for Financial Computing & Analytics and Professor of Computing at UCL. Twenty years ago his research group development much of the early fraud detection technology and built the first insider dealing detection system for the London Stock Exchange. For the past 12 years Prof. Treleaven’s research group has developed algorithmic trading systems with many of the leading investment banks and funds, and for the past 4 years they have worked on HFT trading risk and systemic risk with the Bank of England and FCA.
Current research includes the application of AI and blockchain technology to financial “Algorithmic Regulation” with the FCA.

Shanshan previously spent 10 years at Deloitte in a variety of leading roles within audit and consulting across China and the United States. In particular she took a leading role in developing Deloitte’s presence with top tier Chinese banks and international banks, private equity funds and security companies. She worked on a number of leading Asian capital markets transactions, including the IPOs of Agricultural Bank of China, which remains one of the largest such transactions ever conducted.
