Board members

Each year in May, regular society members are formally invited to nominate individuals for the CFA UK Board.  A nominations committee considers all applications and will conduct extensive interviews with each nominee, after which they will make their final recommendations to the incumbent Board in September. The final recommendations are then are put to the membership at the November AGM. The appointment of officers is formally decided by the Board immediately following the AGM.

Committee leaders

All registered volunteers are eligible to apply for committee chair positions. Shortlisted applicants are interviewed by a Board member and CFA UK executive staff member and the recommended candidate’s appointment is ratified by the society’s Board.  

Newly appointed chairs are encouraged to recruit and select their own vice-chair.  Volunteer leader vacancies are advertised via our website, weekly member newsletter and volunteer newsletter. To find out more about our leadership recruitment policy and process speak to your CFA UK contact.

Committee, panel and council members

All society members are eligible to apply for committee, panel or council membership and we always try to match your skills with the appropriate opening.  

All vacancies are advertised via our website, weekly member newsletter and volunteer newsletter.  You’ll be invited to meet with the committee chair and designated CFA UK contact to discuss your interests, skills and experience.  You can also attend a committee meeting as a guest so you can get a flavour of how it operates and meet the other committee members.  To find out more about our committee, panel and council recruitment policy and process speak to your CFA UK contact.  

Working group members

Short-term volunteer opportunities vary widely in nature and can arise at any time, as projects, issues, and volunteer groups identify opportunities to tap into our members’ expertise.  If any of these opportunities look like a good match with the information in your volunteer profile, we’ll contact you to see if you’re interested.

Special Interest Groups

Our special interest groups, aimed specific areas of investment, are chaired by society volunteers and are open to both members and non-members. Chairs and vice chairs are self-appointed. If you are interested in setting up a special interest group please contact us to arrange a preliminary discussion on the steps involved.
